This is a full-time, remote position based in Nairobi, Kenya. As an Audit Associate, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and providing valuable insights into their financial health. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of financial audits, ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
- Perform detailed testing of financial statements, transactions, and internal controls.
- Identify and communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations to senior audit staff.
- Prepare clear and concise audit documentation, working papers, and reports.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and client personnel in a remote work setting.
- Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of progressive experience in external audit, preferably within a public accounting firm.
- Progress towards or completion of CPA/ACCA qualification is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of auditing principles, financial accounting concepts, and IFRS.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
