📋 Job Description

Our dynamic and rapidly expanding professional services firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Audit Associate to join our Accounting & Finance team. This is a full-time, remote position based in Nairobi, Kenya. As an Audit Associate, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and providing valuable insights into their financial health. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of financial audits, ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
  • Perform detailed testing of financial statements, transactions, and internal controls.
  • Identify and communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations to senior audit staff.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit documentation, working papers, and reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and client personnel in a remote work setting.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of progressive experience in external audit, preferably within a public accounting firm.
  • Progress towards or completion of CPA/ACCA qualification is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of auditing principles, financial accounting concepts, and IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
