We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our dynamic team in Melbourne, Australia. This is a full-time, onsite position where you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our robust network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and a commitment to ensuring optimal network performance and reliability across our enterprise environment.
As a Network Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, configuring, and deploying network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitoring network performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance network efficiency and capacity.
- Troubleshooting complex network issues, including connectivity, performance, and security-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Implementing and managing network security measures, including VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
- Participating in on-call rotations and providing expert support for critical network incidents.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on enterprise-level environments.
- Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching technologies (VLANs, STP, HSRP), and TCP/IP stack.
- Hands-on experience with major network vendor equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Solid understanding of network security principles and experience with firewall administration.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 110,000 – 145,000 / year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
