We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our fully remote team based out of Berlin, Germany. This is a critical role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our global network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for our cutting-edge cloud-based services. You will be instrumental in shaping our network strategy and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support our rapid growth and deliver robust, scalable solutions across our distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure network architectures across multiple data centers and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures, including firewall management, VPN configuration, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Automate network tasks and configurations using scripting (Python, Ansible) to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to support application deployment and infrastructure scaling initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on enterprise-level routing, switching, and firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).
- Expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPNs (IPSec, SSL), and SDN concepts.
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking (AWS VPCs, Azure VNets, GCP Networks) and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Proficiency in network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently in a remote setting, and strong communication abilities.
