We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic team remotely from Mexico City, Mexico. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to lead critical financial operations for a growing international organization. As Financial Controller, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, driving strategic financial planning, and optimizing our financial processes. We offer a competitive salary range of USD 65,000 – 85,000 / year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS).
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Support the strategic decision-making process by providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership position.
- Proven experience with financial statement preparation, consolidations, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal) is required due to the location and international scope.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
