Our innovative and rapidly growing data & analytics team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Part-Time Remote Data Engineer to join us from Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure that power our analytical insights and product features. We are looking for someone passionate about data quality, scalability, and efficiency, who thrives in a collaborative, remote-first environment and can commit to approximately 20-25 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Build and maintain data models that support reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and security across all data pipelines and storage solutions.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring high availability and performance of our data infrastructure.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data architecture, tools, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of data pipeline projects.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language, preferably Python, for data manipulation and automation.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse) and their associated services.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and schema design.
- Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote, part-time setting.
