DevSecOps Engineer

As a DevSecOps Engineer Intern, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the security posture of our cloud infrastructure and applications. You will work within our dedicated platform engineering team, focusing on the automation and integration of security best practices into our CI/CD pipelines. This internship is designed to provide you with a deep understanding of modern DevSecOps principles, enabling you to contribute directly to securing our microservices architecture and deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring security gates and checks are integrated effectively.
• Contribute to the automation of security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) within the development and deployment workflows.
• Work with ArgoCD to implement and maintain GitOps-driven deployments and configuration management for Kubernetes clusters.
• Help develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and manage secure cloud resources on AWS.
• Participate in threat modeling sessions and security reviews of new features and infrastructure changes.
• Assist in the monitoring of security events, contributing to incident response procedures and vulnerability management.
• Research and evaluate emerging security technologies and best practices to continually improve our DevSecOps capabilities.

Required Skills & Tools:

• Foundational understanding of DevSecOps principles, software development lifecycle, and cloud computing concepts (preferably AWS).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and concepts, with some exposure to GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
• Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of version control systems, especially Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in security.

Nice-to-Have:

• Prior experience or coursework with GitOps principles and tools like ArgoCD.
• Exposure to infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Knowledge of security testing tools (e.g., SonarQube, Trivy, Dependabot).
• Experience with cloud security services on AWS.
• Relevant certifications or ongoing studies in cybersecurity or cloud engineering.
