We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Systems Administrator to join our hybrid team in Tokyo, Japan. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of our IT infrastructure, supporting our diverse global operations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical background and a commitment to maintaining robust and efficient systems.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Administering and maintaining Windows Server and Linux operating systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure components (routers, switches, firewalls) and ensuring network security.
- Managing virtualized environments (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) and cloud platforms.
- Monitoring system health, identifying potential issues, and implementing proactive solutions to prevent downtime.
- Developing and maintaining scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for task automation and system management.
- Providing technical support and guidance to end-users on system-related issues and best practices.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- At least 3 years of demonstrable experience in a Systems Administrator or similar IT support role.
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS) and command-line Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and cybersecurity best practices.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies and basic cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English is required for technical communication; Japanese language skills are a significant plus.
