We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our fully remote team, based in Los Angeles, CA. As a Senior SRE, you will be a key player in designing, implementing, and maintaining our sophisticated cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will champion SRE best practices, drive automation initiatives, and provide technical leadership in managing the entire lifecycle of our production systems. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver a seamless and high-quality experience to our customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Develop, optimize, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to ensure rapid, reliable, and automated software delivery.
- Automate operational tasks, system provisioning, and configuration management using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and post-mortem analysis for production issues, driving continuous improvement in system reliability.
- Implement and manage robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver) to ensure proactive issue detection.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, resource utilization, and ensure adherence to SRE best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to the overall SRE roadmap and strategy.
Required Skills & Tools:
- 5+ years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or similar role with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure.
- Expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, VPC).
- Strong proficiency with Kubernetes and Helm for container orchestration and application deployment.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins, and version control systems like Git.
- Solid background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and configuration management with Ansible.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Go, and strong command-line Linux skills.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Stackdriver.
- Deep understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, incident management, and post-mortems.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with other cloud providers (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio).
- Database administration experience (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer).
